For days and days I've tried to needle felt everything from my kitty, Piper, to autumn leaves, but much to my dismay, nothing came out looking like anything. I tried looking at a picture, I tried using a cookie cutter, I tried creating an object on the foam and then transferring it to the bag (suggested by my lys) and still, nothing I did seemed to work.
This experience has been like watching both of my sons draw. They are wonderful artists and are able to look at something and recreate it with ease, even with shading! But me... well, I do ok for the preschool set, but not too well if I want someone over 5 to be able to recognize what I've made :)LOL.
So, I decided I would try something new! I've had this website bookmarked for a LONG time and I decided that I would give felting over soap a try. I have some really wonderful scented soap I brought with me from Hawaii and I have all this wool roving, so I thought... read, look at the pictures, and try it out. These would be great Christmas gifts, if this really works. So, I gathered the few materials that are needed and followed the instructions and there you go! I have a fragrant tuberose felted gift soap that can be used in the shower or bath just like you would use one of those net balls, only this 'felted soap' is soooo soft. I have two thumbs up on this project. Now, back to working on my shawl :)
