"S-Cord"

I've had a few people wonder about what a "S-cord" is. I used this stitch in creating the strap for the "Helen" bag. It's very simple and it makes the cord/strap lay flat on your shoulder. I learned it through a posting on Bag-a-holics by Donna in MD.
This is how you do it:
Cast on 5 or 7 or 9 stitches depending on how wide you want but
always use an uneven amount of stitches.
Then do as follows:
For a 7 stitch strap knit the first 4 stitches , then bring the yarn
to the front and slip the last 3 stitches as if to purl. Turn your
work and and do the same thing........knit 4, bring yarn to the front
and slip 3 as if to purl. Continue until you have the desired length
then knit the last row and bind off.
As you continue you will see that only the middle stitch is knitted
every row and it felts great.
