Thinking about the new year...

This year I made a few of those usual resolutions about losing weight, getting organized, studying more, trying to live a more 'balanced' life, and being thankful for everything that I experience. In many ways, I was able to make good on all of those things that seem to make life easier. But a few weeks ago I picked up the nicest Christian organizer/journal at my local Christian bookstore. I opened it today and am really impressed by everything in it from the full page apt/journal pages to the daily Bible verses, Christian thoughts, budget logs, and a ton of other 'goodies'.

We all seem to wonder what God wants us to do with our lives. What is His will for us? Well, I'd like to share a passage from this very inexpensive book that has been and I can see right now will be a wonderful blessing every day of this coming year. I want to make sure that everyone realizes this is NOT my work but is found in this treasure. I hope it gives you something to think about for the 2008 NEW YEAR:

"What is God's will for my life? Is there a Christian who has not asked this question at least once? Sometimes "God's Will" seems so vague, so hard to know. Perhaps the problem is that we're expecting God to reveal something special to us, while ignoring the revelation he's already given - his written Word. The Bible has dozens of clear commands for us to follow: Worship God only, love your neighbors and your enemies, use your spiritual gifts, do not lie, do not covet, obey God's laws, and the list goes on. Isn't that God's will for our lives? When we are ushered into eternity will it really matter what house, what car or even what job we had? NO. The real issue will be whether we have been faithful, and come to know God in a special way. God is vitally interested in the details of our lives, but His real will is that we spend more time thinking about what's really important." And that's my plan for this coming soon New Year. I hope it's yours, too.
God bless you all from his storehouse of riches & health!
