Putting On The Armor of God

Before reading today's entry, I want to warn those of you who may not believe in the powers that surround us, this may not be something you'd like to believe in, but spiritual battle/warfare is a very real thing...

THE ARMOUR OF GOD
Ephesians 6: 10 - 18 (NIV)
10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

The reason I brought this up is because, don't you know... after my post about going into battle, I had a myriad of attacks yesterday upon getting up in the morning... the unexplained pain that I suffered from when I stopped designing was back at the same intensity as before!!! But this time I was prepared!!!! As soon as I realized what was happening I put on the ARMOR OF GOD. The pain didn't go away instantly, but it taught me a very valuable lesson... PUT THE ARMOR ON AS SOON AS RISING!!! as soon as I am awake, I will put the armor on!!

How do you do that? And why?

• By knowing what the armor is... The belt of TRUTH... The breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS, Feet fitted with READINESS, Shield of FAITH, Helmet of SALVATION, and The Sword of the SPIRIT (God's Word) Having this knowledge, we can see where the 'enemy' attacks: 1)He wants us to doubt the truth, 2)He wants us to believe that our righteousness is found in acts, not grace 3)He wants us NOT to be ready for battle so that we can become a causalty of war 4)He will do all he can to destroy our faith in God and in our selves 5)Although he'd like to destroy our salvation, God secures it for all eternity through Jesus 6)He knows that if we don't know God's word, we don't know the power we have over him.
• How do we put on this armor so that we are protected? By daily reading it over and over until it gets into our spirit so when the battle comes we are prepared.
  

This morning upon rising, I went to the Word and I did put on this armor... now, I'm ready for the battle...
