Are we about to loose this in America?

Yesterday I wrote about why I don't listen to the news any more and as usual, I began thinking about other times in history when the news media used their power to influence the masses. Now, I wasn't alive during the 30s & 40s but I am a big history buff. As a young girl I read all I could about these times because I found it interesting.. I loved the fashion and the music... that's a teenager's view of those times, but now as an adult, I find that history seems to be repeating itself. Today I've spent time reviewing propaganda fills from Nazi Germany. Oh the similarities between them and our national news... one view, one voice, one vote... how very sad!!! At this time in history, the whole world is looking to one man to pull us out of economic ruin. Just as much of the world was looking to Hitler to pull them out of the remnants of the Great Depression. Personal needs out weighed the needs of the country. Sounds like today? Promises being made that may never be backed up with action. (Wonder if we will be taxed if we could bring a personal law suit against Mr Obama if he does raise taxes? Isn't he now making oral contracts with the people of America?) So many things to think about. Who would have thought 30 40 years ago when young people were fighting for all kinds of freedoms that in just a very short time, we would actually want to give them up for selfish goals? How sad that so many people gave their lives for these freedoms that we now are willing to do away with in what seems to be a heartbeat because life has gotten a little hard. This time it's not Nazi Germany that is controlling the digital news world it's the Democratic party. And just like so many of the innocent German people, Americans are following a path of propaganda just because it's there. I wouldn't be so bothered by this election if the news media would just give equal respect to ALL parties. Did you even know that there are more than 2 people running for president?

One of the most interesting things I found when I searched you tube for things about propaganda was this little film below it was made in the 1940s by High School students. They are talking about Capitalism (which is one of the basic principles of the American Constitution) what it is and isn't. It's a bit scary to listen to what it isn't and see what is happening right now, right here in our country... government stepping in private banking... government wanting to invest/control private business... tell me we are not slipping back in time. God help us all!!!
