This is Nancy. It is a felted bag and what I wanted to do with this design was to try to use color and an accent yarn. I'm not sure how the colors show up on your monitor, but in 'real' life the colors are very compatible... the green is called old sage and the lavendar is called thistle. Both yarns are from Brown Sheep. They are Lamb's Pride Bulky. The accent yarn is one from Italy. It's called Firenze. There isn't a color name just a lot and dye numbers. I made this a simple buttonhole bag that has a little more room than those that are curved or rounded at the sides and I made it for my Auntie Nancy for 2 reasons. I know it's silly, but when I saw the sage and I knew it would be named after her I will never forget how wonderful her house use to smell when she sat for me and my brother and sister. I remember her stuffed peppers cooking and even now my mouth waters at the thought :)LOL The second reason is because for many years she was a cake decorator. She would take the common cake and 'dress' it up to become a birthday cake or a wedding cake or whatever her clients needed. I wanted to do the same with this bag... take a simple pattern and 'dress' it up with color and textures. I don't think you can see it in the picture, but there are flecks of shimmering golds that accent the other colors.
