After shooing Mr Piper off of every felted bag that I make, I decided to 'whip' him up a bag of his own. :) The only thing is I didn't have enough wool at home to make that, so I made this handsome autumn cat mat. :) It is knit in a way that is kinda like making a log cabin quilt. I started from the center of the mat and knit outward, binding off after 9 rows and picking up along the sides. It was a lot of fun. I added the crocheted edging because 1)I wanted to use up the yarn. 2)I wanted to see how felting a crocheted chain would turn out. It's not quite dry, but Mr P has already tried laying on it and he seems to like it.

what a great idea!!! i just love it and the colors !!! and my little wiener likes all my yarns and has to sniff everything too! I think it's the smell that they like of the wool!!! esp when felted and a bit wet too!!! well I hope the "king" will leave your bags alone!!!
