God Bless the Children of America! on this 4th of July!!!

As soon as I heard this song, I knew I needed to share this with you on this 4th of July. Not only did I spend over 16 years as a military spouse (with my own children growing up in this environment) and know what the families of those serving in the military experience, but I've also taught so many military children. They are different than those who have parents that are in the home all the time. They are strong, look to all the community adults with respect, they are very flexible and see change as a way of life, they learn to love from a distance (extended family members are far from them). But they also carry with them every day... "Is my Mommy/Daddy safe?" "Will they be home soon?" "I don't like it when someone knocks on my door". So, on this day, may God fill all these little ones with hope for the future, peace for those who have lost a parent, and joy to be able to be proud of what their parent/parents are doing to serve others!!!!
God bless YOU!!!!
