I am really looking forward to what God has in store for me this new year. :) I had my final visit with my Dr on the 2nd and I got a very good report... my blood pressure was great and the doctor even checked it 3 more times for her own reassurance. So, what took a year to do, was well worth it. Thank you God!!!
Today I finished my 30 days of in depth Bible Study using the "Knowing & Loving The Bible" by Catherine Martin. I absolutely LOVE this book!!!! For anyone who is wanting to develop a closer relationship to God through studying His Word, I fully recommend this book. I love all the resources of Bible aids and how to really study the Bible. I also learned a lot about how God speaks to us through His word. This is one book I would give to the new believer, or to someone who has been walking with the Lord for a long time. I learned so much and I am so excited about being with God during 'our' quiet time, I now spend time with God in the morning, afternoon, and evening. I've discovered that this is THE most important thing I need to do every day.
These are my "To Read" books for this year. There's a little bit of everything... Bad Girls of the Bible by Liz Curtis Higgs (Character Bible Study), Thomas Kinkade & Katherine Spencer's Cape Light (first of a series), Jesus, the Man Who Loved Women by Bruce Marchiano (my relationship with Jesus) and Healing Waters by Nance Rue & Stephen Arterburn (fiction).
Although I've spent almost a year in my Heaven book by Randy Alcorn, I've loved every minute reading about my future home. I will admit, it starts out a bit deep, but once I got further into the book, I fell in love with it and didn't want to rush through the book. I've only got a little more to go. If you've ever wondered about Heaven and how to live today as if you're there, you should read this book. I will be sad when I finally finish it, but as you see, I've got a good stack I can start on :)
